Clashes Erupt Outside UPPSC Office as Students Demand Long-Pending Exam Results
Hundreds of students staged a protest outside the UPPSC office in Prayagraj, demanding the release of PCS Prelims 2024 and RO–ARO Prelims 2023 results. The demonstration escalated into clashes with police, prompting additional security deployment to control the situation.
The protesting students were demanding the immediate release of the final answer keys for the PCS Preliminary Examination 2024 and the Review Officer–Assistant Review Officer (RO–ARO) Preliminary Examination 2023. They also called for the public disclosure of marks obtained by both successful and unsuccessful candidates, arguing that transparency was essential to maintain trust in the examination process.
As the crowd swelled near the commission’s office, tensions rose between demonstrators and law enforcement personnel deployed at the site. Eyewitnesses reported scuffles as police attempted to disperse the gathering, with several students being physically removed from the area. Visuals from the scene showed police dragging protesters away as authorities moved to prevent the situation from spiraling further.
Officials said additional security forces were rushed in to restore order and ensure that public movement in the area was not disrupted. While no official statement was immediately issued on whether any detentions were made, police maintained that crowd control measures were necessary to manage the escalating situation.
The incident highlights mounting pressure on the UPPSC amid persistent demands for timely results and greater transparency in recruitment examinations. For thousands of aspirants whose careers hinge on these outcomes, the delay has become a source of anxiety and unrest, turning administrative processes into a flashpoint for public protest.
